THE LEOPARD-LIKE BEAST OF REVELATION 13
The Beast Rising From the Sea
Revelation 13:1–2
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”
THE TIME IS PAST DUE WHEN THE ARCHIVES OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION—AND, IN THIS INSTANCE, CHAPTER 13—SHOULD BE UNVEILED. THE MYSTERIOUS AND APOCALYPTIC NATURE OF THIS BOOK, WHICH HAD BEEN HIDDEN FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION, IS NOW MADE MANIFEST TO HIS PEOPLE.
In answer to His disciples’ question in Matthew 13:10 about speaking in parables, Jesus responded in verse 11:
“It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”
In Isaiah 53:1, the question is asked:
“TO WHOM IS THE ARM OF THE LORD REVEALED?”
The Symbolic Nature of the Book
HERE ARE A FEW EXAMPLES OF THE SYMBOLIC NATURE OF THIS BOOK:
1. Sea or Water
Sea or water means peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.
See Revelation 17:15 and Isaiah 17:12.
2. Beast
A beast means a man in Revelation 13:18, and a king with a kingdom in Daniel 7:17, 23.
3. Heads
Heads mean mountains. In Revelation 17:9:
“The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.”
The woman represents a church.
4. Mountains
In Isaiah 2:2, a mountain means the Lord’s house, or a church.
Daniel 9:16 refers to:
“Jerusalem thy holy mountain.”
5. Mount Zion
Hebrews 12:22–23 speaks of:
“Mount Sion… the church of the firstborn.”
The Seven Heads and Seven Mountains
IN REVELATION 13, THE LEOPARD-LIKE BEAST HAS SEVEN HEADS. IN REVELATION 17:3, THE PROPHET OF PATMOS SAW A WOMAN—A CHURCH—SITTING UPON A SCARLET-COLOURED BEAST HAVING SEVEN HEADS.
We have just learned from Scripture that these heads are mountains, and the mountains represent a totality of churches because the number seven is used in the Bible to denote completion.
Examples include:
- Seven days of Creation week
- Seven churches
- Seven seals
- Seven trumpets
- Seven plagues
- Seven mountains
The names of the seven mountains upon which Rome is built are:
- Aventine
- Caelian
- Capitoline
- Esquiline
- Palatine
- Quirinal
- Viminal
1 Corinthians 15:46 reads:
“Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.”
SO, THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS ARE FIRST PHYSICAL, THEN SPIRITUAL.
IT IS UNEQUIVOCALLY CLEAR THAT ROMAN CATHOLICISM IS THE LEOPARD-LIKE BEAST OF REVELATION 13 THAT HAS SEVEN HEADS, WHICH ARE SEVEN MOUNTAINS, DEPICTING ROME’S CLAIM AS THE HEAD OF ALL THE CHURCHES OF THE CITY AND OF THE WORLD.
In Their Own Words
Written in Latin upon the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran, a church in Rome, is the inscription:
“SACROS LATERAN ECCLES OMNIUM VRBIS ET ORBIS ECCLESIARVM MATER ET CAPVT.”
Translated into English, we have:
“Most Holy Lateran Church, Mother and Head of all the churches in the city and the world.”
The Basilica of Saint John Lateran serves as the official cathedral—the seat or chair—of the Bishop of Rome, who is the Pope.
The Vatican as a Theocracy
It must be carefully noted that Vatican City is a sovereign city-state where the religious leader—the Pope—is also the head of state. It is the world’s sole remaining Christian theocracy.
The definition of theocracy is:
A form of government in which a god or deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler, and state laws are administered by religious authorities or a priesthood claiming divine commission.
JUST IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, THE BEAST OF REVELATION 13 HAS SEVEN HEADS, UPON WHICH IS THE NAME OF BLASPHEMY.
This means that a mortal man, like the Pope, claiming to be God and claiming to forgive sins is guilty of blasphemy.
See John 10:30–33 and Luke 5:20–21.
THE BEAST ALSO HAS TEN HORNS WITH CROWNS—MEANING SHE CONTROLS THE STATE AS WELL AS THE CHURCH.
