God's Amazing Love
God’s love for a world that did not love Him is truly amazing when you think about it. God did not demonstrate His love for us because we were a good and holy people. He didn’t even love us because we first loved Him or because we were looking for Him.
The Bible says: “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us … For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life” (Romans 5:8, 10).
It’s easy to love those who love you and it’s easy to show compassion and kindness to those who show it to you. Yet God so loved us while we hated him. While we were His enemy and while we were sinners God saw our miserable condition and our helplessness and that was the motive for sending Jesus. What can you do to deserve God’s own son? Nothing! What have you ever done to deserve any of the blessings that God has given you? Nothing! How do you earn God’s love and favor? You can’t! How does one purchase salvation and eternal life? It has already been purchased. The price has already been paid.
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
Sin will result in eternal death with no hope and no future life and no resurrection. We are all doomed to die because all have sinned and there is no escape—unless there is someone who is willing to take upon himself my sin and my punishment. There is someone and that someone is Jesus.
Jesus’ death on the cross frees us from the penalty and guilt of our sins. In exchange of His death we are given the robes of His perfect righteousness, a crown of glory and eternal life. Why? Because God has loved us with a love that is immeasurable. It is His love that redeems us. It is a love that never fails.
“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).
God’s love and salvation is a free gift to all those who ask. He offers a pardon and a new life of freedom and victory over this world of sin. His love, peace, joy, forgiveness, and righteousness He gives to all those who would receive it.
God alone is worthy of our worship and praise for He has demonstrated His love to each of us. Our loving Father is not willing that any should perish—that’s why He sent Jesus.
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else” (Isaiah 45:22).
God still loves you in spite of yourself, your troubled past or in spite of whatever situation your are in now. God knows everything about you, things no one else probably knows, and yet He still cares for you and desires to welcome you into His kingdom. How can we say “no” to such an amazing love? For it is only His love that can awaken love inside of us.
